“Kiti Gartner & the Drifting Valentines is a band out of Washington DC who play western swing, rockabilly, old country with a pinch of jump blues. Their influences include many great musicians and artists from the 1940s and on. Kiti Gartner on vocals and rhythm guitar and Zachary Sweeney on sparkly hot guitar, swingin’ blues maestro Steve Wolf on upright bass, Brian Alpert on rockin’ drums and Gary Lee Gimble on pedal steel guitar. Louie Newmyer (upright bass) and Lynn Kasdorf (pedal steel) also play with the Valentines on occasion. Established in 2013, and re-formed in 2017, the Drifting Valentines hope to complete their first release this coming winter.”
